Sex: Females and Males have identical color patterns. Difficult to tell appart.
Feeding: They will eat flakes and algea wafers.
Social Behaviour: Mild-mannered lake Malawi cichlid. Best if kept in groups of six or more. They are territorial and get more aggressive if kept in a small tank.


Up Keep: Tank should be roomy with plenty of rocks and caves for the fish to hide in.
Breeding: Introduce male to a tank with several females. Male will chase females till spawning occures. Both male and female can be kept together while brooding. Male should be removed if he gets too aggressive.
Comments: A small, hardy cichlid from lake Malawi. Good for a first Malawi cichlid. Suggest keeping six or more in a tank that is at least 50 gallons in size.
