Convict, Zebra Cichlid

Convict, Zebra Cichlid
Amatitlania nigrofasciata

Length: 6.0"
Sex: Females have orange scales on the lower bodies.
Feeding: Feed a variety of live foods, flakes and algae.
Social Behaviour: Territorial and not good for a community aquarium.

Up Keep: Needs places for hiding and a gravel bottom.
Breeding: Will spawn in a cave. They are very easy too breed and great for first time breeders. Both parents will take care of the fry.
Comments: These fish are very hardy. They make a good beginner fish. They are very aggressive and don't do well in a community tank. I suggest getting a pair for a 20 gal. tank and trying to breed them. They are very easy to breed and both parents take care of the fry.
