Tiger Barb Barbus Tetrazona
|
| Length: |
3.0" |
| Sex: |
The male is generally smaller and more colorful. |
| Feeding: |
Will eat all types of foods including flakes and live foods. |
| Social Behaviour: |
Very active fish that can be a bit nippy. |
|
|
| Up Keep: |
Needs lots of open swimming space in the tank. Recommend a medium sized tank. |
| Breeding: |
Best results are achieved when there are several males and females and they are given a chance to pair up naturally. |
| Comments: |
This fish seems to be susceptible to Ich. It is a good idea
to have a treatment on hand. Due to the nippy tendancy of
the tiger barb, it is not recommended to keep with other
fish that are more timid such as gouramis. A green and
albino tiger barb is also available. |
