Males tend to be larger and brightly colored. Also much more aggressive. |
| Feeding: |
Cichlid flakes, live or frozen brine shrimp(they have fun with live ones), freeze dried blood worms and algae. |
| Social Behaviour: |
A mildly aggressive lake Malawi Cichlid. Best kept in groups of 8 to 12 with several females for every male. |

73-80 degree water. Aquarium should be large with plenty of rocks creating passageways and caves. |
| Breeding: |
During Spawning the dominant male will allow the female to enter his territory. After spawning has taken place she will then join the other females. Feed juveniles baby brine shrimp. |
| Comments: |
Mine is kept alone in a 20 gallon tank. Loves to
pull plants out of gravel and take them elsewhere. Also
enjoys grabbing gravel in its mouth and spitting it out in
the corners (bedding). I haven't been successful breeding him because of his aggressive behavior. |
