Sex: The male is more brightly colored when spawning. The male is also larger.
Feeding: They will eat flakes and all types of live or frozen foods.
Social Behaviour: A peaceful fish that can be kept in groups and with other peaceful fish.


Up Keep: Aquarium should have plenty of plants for hiding and some open areas. Provide some floating plants for cover.
Breeding: A pair should be placed in a prepared breeding tank. Temperature should be about 79 degrees. Remove the pair once finished spawning to prevent them from eating the eggs.
Comments: These Barbs are unlike nippy Tiger Barbs. They are peaceful and timid. They will live together just fine with other peaceful fish. Once mature the male will show its full red coloration
