Tank should have plenty of hiding places in rocks and roots. Provide some tough plants and floating plants with and open swimming area. |

A pair will spawn with temperature between 23 and 26 degrees and pH of 6.5 to 7. Female will lay as many as 500 eggs on a cleaned rock. |

These fish a fairly tough and peaceful cichlids. They are territorial and may chase other fish away. They are a good choice for a first time cichlid owner. |
