First Fish

Selecting the first fish

Selecting the first fish is an important part of getting started. When setting up a new tank the best idea is to purchase fish that are hardy and can tolerate the first few weeks when the biological filter is being established. Purchasing tough and inexpensive fish is the best plan. Down the road one can always trade the fish in at a local store for ones that are preferred. Doing a little research on the fish type before making the purchase is a good idea. A very hardy and inexpensive fish that's is good for starting is a Zebra Danio.

Zebra Danio a good starter fish.
